San Diego Tango Milongas or Argentine Tango Dance Parties

While you can dance just about every night in the San Diego Area, there are a couple of Milongas that we frequent more than others in part because of distance and in part because of the dance floor, and in part because of the other dancers who frequent the Milongas.

Milongas where you can find us and why we go there:

Saturday, 1st and 3rd Saturday of the Month, 9-1 pm Milonga Tocal Tango

North County Dance Arts
12750 Carmel Country Road, Suite 103
San Diego, CA 92130

This is our milonga. It has cozy intimate atmosphere and of course features, friendly hosts, Krista Ann and Florentino. We offer delicious refreshments, traditional tangos, milongas and valses, and a generous portion of Tango Nuevo.

Tuesday 9-11 pm UCSD Tango Practica

UCSD, location and time varies so check their website first! Free!

We love this practica in part because we teach at UCSD (see our class schedule) but mostly because it attracts lots of young Tangueros. The floor is always excellent and you get the opportunity to share what you know with others.

Fourth Sundays, Once a Month only! 8:30-11:30pm Milonga - Tango Addicts' Milonga

New Date and Time! 4569 30th Street in North Park $5

America's milonga has been steadily picking up steam and is now one of the most attended milongas in San Diego. They just moved the date and time so lets hope that it continues to be a popular place to dance. (It has!) America's music mix is also expanding and with a nice location and floor it is not surprising that Milongueros are getting their Tango fix at this Milonga. A nice assortment of snacks and Sangria to keep you going till the very end.

FRIDAY 9:30 pm-1:00 am Milonga - Milonga Sin Nombre

Pattie Welle's Dancetime Studio, $8

By far, the greatest bunch of people and generally, a younger crowd than any other milonga besides the UCSD Practica,. Beside, the great music, the also have the a nice spread of snacks, drinks, and goodies.Guest DJs, who do a great job and play some non-traditional tangos as well to mix things up. This Milonga is hosted now single handedly hosted by America. The music varies depending on who is dj'ing. A crowd that is younger than at most other local Milongas. Many of our UCSD students go there, so we try not to miss this milonga.
